Selwyn District Council is developing a district wide strategy for the next 35 – 60 years, looking at how national and global trends will impact on Selwyn and thinking about how to shape the economic, social, cultural and environmental future for the district.

If Te Waihora/lLake Ellesmere and the tributaries are important to you, this is your chance to have your say. Do you want your grandchildren to be able to swim at Coes Ford? How will a good balance be found between sustainable development and environmental and cultural values? How will the history of the area be recognised and will the special qualities of the Lake be valued?

A series of visioning workshops is being held in Leeston (July 28th, 7pm), Lincoln (July 31st, 2pm) and Darfield (August 2nd, 7pm).  Details are on the future for Selwyn website and you can also join their mailing list or follow progress on Twitter.
