There are two key restoration planting events coming up soon – can you help?
The 2016 Canterbury Plantout, led by Te Ara Kākāriki with support from the Living Water partnership, is coming up on September 3 and registrations are open now. For more information and to register visit the TAK website.
This is a great day out and a chance to plant at different sites in the catchment. Transport, food and expert knowledge are all provided for a small cost. Registration is essential and numbers are limited.
TAK are also hosting a Planting day in the upper catchment on September 24 – see their website for details.
The 2016 Green Footprint planting will be on Friday September 9 at Coes Ford. It’s not necessary to register for this free event but we’d appreciate it if you can email to let us know if you are planning to come so we can make sure we have enough sausages for the BBQ!
This is a partnership between WET, SDC, YHA, the Coes and Chamberlains Ford Reserve Management Committee and Enviroschools. The planting of native trees and shrubs at either Coes Ford or Chamberlains Ford has been undertaken each year since 2005.
