State of the Lake 2017
State of the lake 2017 – WET published an update to the 2015 and 2013 reports in conjunction with the sixth Living Lake Symposium, held at Lincoln University in November 2017. Covering the same range of topics, the report resent an overview of the health of the lake. This year additional sections have been included: City to Lake links, Christchurch City Council, whom joined the Te Waihora Co-Governance Group in 2016; and, In Lake Nutrient Processing, based on research funded by Whakaora Te Waihora and Environment Canterbury examining how Te Waihora/Lake Ellesmere processes nitrogen and phosphorus loads entering the lake.

State of the Lake report – WET launched a new publication at the fourth Living Lake Symposium, held at Lincoln University on November 7 and 8, 2013. Focusing on sets of indicators for a range of different topics, several short reports by expert authors have been compiled to present an update on the state of the lake 2013.

Lake Access Brochure
This brochure, published in 2008 with assistance from the Biodiversity Advice Fund and Environment Canterbury, provides an overview of the ecology, recreational use, Lake management and history of the Lake. A map of the Lake indicates the key access points, roads, tracks and reserves. The brochure can be downloaded here (2MB), and is also available from libraries or by contacting us.
