There’s still time to enter your art work in the WET Art Exhibition!
We have great prizes, including a weekend’s accommodation at Hollyford Cottage in Tai Tapu, and a number of great gift vouchers for art supplies and photographic services, courtesy of ASB Bank.
WET is hosting an Art Exhibition, to be held alongside the the 2013 Living Lake Symposium at Lincoln University in early November – and we are keen to have entries from any artists with connections to the lake and environs.
It is free to enter your artwork, with works accepted at the discretion of the organising committee. You can also offer your artwork for sale.
The theme is “Te Waihora Lake Ellesmere Expressions of the Living Lake.” This encompasses people’s connection to Te Waihora/Lake Ellesmere, and the diversity of values held for the Lake and its catchment. We’d love to see a great selection of artworks that represent the lake, or tell the stories of what the lake means to the people who live, work or play in the area.
The categories are:
- Painting/Original Printmaking
- Photography
- Sculpture and Maori Art Forms
- Film
Our entry form includes full details of how to enter – download it here.
We’ll be awarding some prizes, including a people’s choice award we’ll be asking symposium attendees to vote on. We’re looking for local sponsorship for prizes so let us know if you would like to donate a prize and we’ll make sure you’re acknowledged at the exhibition and in our programme.
The art exhibition will be open to the public throughout the symposium and we’ll be encouraging symposium attendees to take the time to enjoy the artworks. We’re expecting a wide cross section of people to attend the symposium – many of the key decision makers for the area – so this is a chance to let them know what is important to you about Te Waihora/Lake Ellesmere.
Please get in touch if you would like further information.
